Listed below are areas you can put your hands to service while here at Emmanuel:

 

 

Safe Haven:

 

Providing monthly Saturday night socials for members of our community living with and recovering from mental illness is an important EPC putreach project that has continued for the past 9 years. The Saturday night sociasl are held the 4th Saturday of the month for 25-30 participants. EPC volunteers provide dinner for th egroup and help with transportation. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and December holidays offer opportunities fo rhighlighting special occasions. After dinner, participants socialize while playing cards, working onuzzles, or enjoying karaoke.

Loaves and Fishes:

This Service Group serves meals once a month at the Oregon City Senior Center. The center provides healthy, low- cost meal and social opportunities for area seniors.

Habitat for Humanity:

Clackamas Coalition Habitat Build

Emmanuel is a member of the Clackamas Coalition, a network of area churches and individuals working together with North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity to build affordable homes for county residents in need.We are currently raising funds toward a second townhome duplex in Canby, OR. We hope to begin building in spring. Volunteer opportunities will be announced as they become available. Contact the Discipleship Commission at 503-636-7000 for more information.

 

Quilters' Circle:

We work on numerous quilting projects each year as an outreach ministry. The quilts welcome our new babies, serve as housewarming gifts to church members as they move into retirement homes, and comfort those who are seriously ill. Anyone with a knack for sewing and an interest in quilting is welcome.

The Quilters' Circle meets the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 10 am in the church building, classroom1.

Letty Owings Center:

 

The Letty Owings Center is a residence for women with young children who are in recovery from drug and alcohol addictions. The program was started by Letty Owings, a former member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church.

Twice a year, our congregation holds a party for the women and children of the center. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks and church members are welcome to attend the events. Contact the Discipleship Commission for more information at 503-636-7000

 

Tanner Springs Worship:

 

Each fourth Sunday of the month, Emmanuel Church provides worship services at Tanner Springs Assisted Living residence in West Linn. Volunteers are needed to provide music, assist residents during the service, and set up the chapel and communion. Contact Guigui and Howard Roberts for more information at 503-635-4118
